About This Site

A South Dakota Moderate is a site I started to be able to express my opinions on politics as well as whatever else strikes my fancy. I have never worked in the political arena and am not being paid by any political party, candidate, or organization. The opinions expressed here are my own and do not reflect those of anyone other than myself and any comments made by readers of this site are their own and do not necessarily reflect my views.

I try to focus mainly on South Dakota Politics but will often write about national politics as well as other items that catch my eye including gadgets and technology as that is what I do for my day job. I am not a South Dakota native having been born and raised in the rust belt town of Lorain, Ohio right outside of Cleveland. I am a 9 year Navy veteran that served during the first Gulf War and I have lived on both coasts as well as many places in between and have traveled extensively overseas. I moved to South Dakota in the fall of 1997 and have never looked back.
