This ruling will surely get the religious right going.
The California Supreme Court has overturned a ban on gay marriage, paving the way for California to become the second state where gay and lesbian residents can marry.
The case involved a series of lawsuits seeking to overturn a voter- approved law that defines marriage as a union [...]

Mike Huckabee has already told us that he wants to change the Constitution to meet God’s standards, now he is letting us know just how he feels about marriage between those other than a man and a woman.
Well, I don’t think that’s a radical view to say we’re going to affirm marriage. I think the [...]

Mike Huckabee has come out of nowhere to be in contention for the GOP nomination mainly by pandering to the religious right and apparently it’s payback time.
I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution. But I believe it’s a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be [...]

Pat Robertson already knows who will win the general election. Why you ask? Because God told him during his annual alone time with the man upstairs.
On Wednesday, Robertson, 77, implied that God informed him who will be elected president in November.
But don’t expect him to spill the beans anytime soon because as he puts it, [...]

Cross posted over at KELO Blogs.
People often wonder what the big deal is and ask why some get nervous when people attempt to allow religious symbols in governmental offices or legislate policies based on religion in our society. Many of the faithful think that the tenants of their beliefs are good so why wouldn’t it [...]

Has the threat by Religious Right leader James Dobson to have his flock vote “none of the above” if the likes of pro-choice Rudy Giuliani wins the nomination opened some eyes among the GOP Presidential candidates? Just last month the likes of Giuliani, Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney, and John McCain had no problem skipping [...]

My new KELO blogging colleague Cory Heidelberger over at the Madville Times kind of stole my thunder on a post I was working on in regards to KELO reporter Perry Groten’s request for Atheists to email him for a story he is considering. So for more information and Cory’s take on it I would recommend [...]

For some odd reason George Bush has often been referred to as “the decider” and now apparently GOP front runner Rudy Giuliani is earning the nickname “the divider” and could be the cause of another 3rd party movement if he gains the GOP nomination. The Religious Right, already fuming over the lack of attendance of [...]

One final post on Monday’s Values Voters debate. I have been reading the various reports on the event in Florida where the 4 top-tiered candidates supposedly had “prior commitments”. Apparently a lot of the media had similar scheduling issues as did the values voters themselves because 1/3 of the 2700 available seats went unused.
The Carpetbagger [...]

KELO has a story this evening about the the South Dakota Peace and Justice Center’s letter writing campaign trying to get Governor Rounds to commute Elijah Page’s death sentence. They are admitting that the chances are slim that Rounds will do that even with his Catholic background.
It would be easy for me to again bring [...]

The Supreme Court has dealt a blow to the religious conservatives when it refused to hear a Maine case filed on the behalf of 8 Maine families by the Institute for Justice. The case seeked to overturn a law that prevents the use of state funds to send students to private religious schools.
Last April, the [...]

From CNN (emphasis added)
“There are some people, and I’m one of them, that believe George Bush was placed where he is by the Lord,” Tomanio said. “I don’t care how he governs, I will support him. I’m a Republican through and through.”Blind faith is something isn’t it? Scary…
