The 109th Congress will go down for many things including an almost total lack of accomplishment but with the news yesterday of Ohio Republican Bob Ney pleading guilty to influence peddling, the 109th term will most likely become the second most scandal ridden session in recent memory behind the Abscam driven 96th Congress of the late [...]

The lobbying scandal involving convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff just keeps getting more and more ugly as the days go by. The story that ABC broke yesterday about Rep. Dennis Hastert being under investigation by the FBI has received quick responses by both the Department of Justice and Hastert.

I was wondering why Dennis Hastert was being so vocal about the FBI searching Louisiana Democrat William Jefferson’s Congressional office as part of the bribery investigation especially considering that they are from opposite parties. New information has come out which makes his reasoning much clearer.
ABC News is reporting that Hastert is under investigation by the [...]

Other than being one of many bad Steven Segal movies it is also what House Speaker Dennis Hastert thinks of members of Congress. Hastert, R-Ill,. was so outraged that the FBI had raided Rep. William Jefferson’s office that he went and cried foul directly to President Bush.
My opinion is that they took the wrong path,” [...]
